May 24-25, 2010 - Joseph at the Millennium Site and Sound Theater, Lancaster, PA, with an overnight stay at The Inn at Reading, PA. A stop at the historic Independence Mall, PA, with a guided tour, includes a delicious roast prime rib and baked stuffed shrimp dinner fllowed by a comedy show at the hotel. Also includes a full breakfast at the hotel with visits to an Amish quilt shop, the Intercourse Cannery and Kitchen Kettle. Plus the unforgettable spectabular show "Joseph." Cost: $299.00 each in a double room, $289.00 each in a tripple room and $349.00 each in a single room. August 12, 2010 - Bobby Vinton with lunch at the Aqua Turf. This fabulous entertainer electrifies the stage and his wonderful musical talents. This is a full scale production with a 10 piece orchestra!! Delicious lunch at the elegant Aqua Turf-Family Style Menu: Salad, pasta, roast turkey, broiled scrod, vegetable, potato, rolls, dessert and beverage. Cost: $83 per person includes transportation on the Senior Center Van, lunch and THE BOBBY VINTON SHOW!! Seats are limited to the first 28 people. *** Wellness program including chair yoga and exercise classes, blood pressure screening, ceramics, cards, knitting and crocheting, nurse practitioner appointments, chorus, and book discussions. Wii games and fitness.
*** Income tax preparation for senior citizens. The Senior Center will have volunteers from AARP Tax-Aide Program beginning Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, running each Tuesday through April 13th. Please call the Senior Center to make your appointment, 860-464-0478.
*** Municipal Agent (Advocate for Elderly). Carol Geiler, Municipal Agent/Senior Director, can provide information on resources and give assistance with applications for benefits or programs available for elders. Call the Center (860-464-0471) for an appointment.
*** Transportation. Senior transportation is available to any Ledyard Senior and for totally disabled persons. We have two vans that can transport wheel chair passengers. We provide round trip rides from your home to the Senior Center for activities, weekly grocery shopping, noon meals, special Center trips and events, banking and medical appointments. Reservations must be made in advance. Call the Center at 860-464-0471 for information.
