Gardening
Junior Master Gardener is an international youth gardening program that promotes a love of gardening, appreciation for the environment, and communication and leadership skills. This series of 12 quarterly classes is designed for high school students that are interested in horticulture or green industry careers or just passionate about gardening. Each class will focus on a different aspect of the gardening world (e.g. plant ID/care/propagation, landscape design, ecological gardening, soil testing and fertility, hydroponics) and will include hands-on activities, research and communication, and a field trip to a gardening destination or conference. Enrollment is limited and program details and application are available at this link: Holdridge Junior Master Gardener.  Applications are due by May 25th and acceptance to the program (email notification by the end of May) is required before completing the Parks & Rec registration
AGE: High School with preference given to students completing their freshman year.
BEGINS: June 5        TIME: 10:00am – 12:00 Noon
The program will meet for 2 hours every 2 weeks for a total of 6 sessions with a field trip.
FEE: $20 per student per quarterly class ($25 for non-residents) plus field trip admission costs (if any)
LOCATION: Holdridge Farm Nursery in Ledyard
