Acoustic Guitar
Instructor: Jody Katz

General Information
  • Ability to read music is NOT necessary.
  • Participant must provide his/her own guitar, a folder or 3-ring binder, and a pencil.
  • Electronic guitar tuner recommended.

Beginner Guitar
  • Learn basic chords (A, D, E, G, D7) using familiar sing-along folk songs.
  • Learn to tune the guitar.
  • Ages 15 thru adult.

Advanced Beginner Guitar I
  • Continuation of Beginner Guitar.
  • Perfect guitar chords A, D, E, G, D7; learn new chords (C, Em, Am, Dm, B7) and introduction to 2 or 3 strum patterns using familiar sing-along folk songs.
  • Introduction to some basic music theory.
  • Ages 10 thru adult.

Advanced Beginner Guitar II/Intermediate
  • Perfect guitar chords A, D, E, G, D7, C, Em, Am, Dm, B7, Fmaj7.
  • Learn Bm, Dm7, G7, F, FM, F#, F#m, Gm, Cm.
  • Some complex chords, more strum patterns and a finger pick using familiar sing-along folk songs.
  • Age 10 thru adult.
